Justice and peace department of Gulu Archdiocese carried out fact finding missions in Layima sub county to establish the facts surrounding land issues in Layima where nearly 250 households have been claimed to have been evicted by the farm owners.

The evicted households

In Layima many households have been evicted from their land. Children, women as well as elderly persons have been evicted without mercy

The following were reported to have been evicted from their land;

The following has been reported to be evicted:

  • Women
  • Children
  • Child headed families
  • Elderly persons
  • Widow

Number of the Evicted households

A total number of 250 household have been reported by the chairperson three of Layima Sub county
